The bright golden yellow flowers of Cloth of Gold Yarrow begin to emerge in late spring and will continue to bloom for most of the summer. Achillea filipendulina flowers are excellent for cutting and attracting bees and butterflies. Spent flower heads should be removed from the plant to help promote new flower growth.
Plant Cloth of Gold in any moist well drained soil, in full sun. This attractive Yarrow will tolerate light shade. It grows well in most soil types and is fairly drought tolerant once established.
Perennials are plants that complete their lifecycle in three or more years.
We carefully select perennial varieties that will do well in our Western New York Gardens. All our perennials are hardy to Zone 6 for those of us nearer to the lake, and most are hardy to Zone 5.
